Recommended Guides for passing AP World and the AP exam.
Students should purchase and use an AMSCO book to supplement their school textbook. The one I recommend is Advanced Placement World History: Modern
Students may also purchase and use review books on their own. Suggested titles are the Princeton Review and Barron's

Suggested summer reading for AP World students include, but is not limited to:
An Edible History of Humanity by Tom Standage (Good overview of all of World History)
The Student's Friend: Concise World History Parts 1 and 2 by Mike Maxwell
Salt: A World History by Mark Kurlansky
Alexander the Great by Captivating History
Slave Narrative Collection by 11 authors
History of the World Series by Susan Wise Bauer
All of the above books have their merits. It is highly recommended that An Edible History or The Student's Friend be read this summer as it will prepare you for the rigors of AP World with a bit a foreknowledge. It is not expected that you read all of these books, nor are these the only books you should read. These are just a few suggested titles that may help you with a particular time period or give you a good overview of history in different contexts. Have a great summer and good luck in AP World!
